Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that we have updated Prepare To Wed for vendors to make the images you upload a lot more searchable! When you upload an image, you can tag them by color, season, style, and vendor involved. Now you can also title and describe the image! Stay tuned for more image features, including tagging any image with any term you'd like to use!

Good Morning! I just wanted to send a quick blog post out to all of our fabulous my Kate Parker Wedding vendors. I try so hard to give you exactly what you want when it comes to your user experience on myKPW. Many of you have given us some fantastic suggestions and when we can implement them, we are so happy to make your lives a little easier.
So, last night my amazing coder, Derek, added a new uploading media feature. Whenever you want to upload an image for any of your editorial contributions- blogging, expert advice articles, featured weddings, and inspiration boards- you now have the CHOICE to allow that image to be seen in the main galleries or not. If you want to upload a great photo for an inspiration board that doesn't really pertain to your work, or if you have an image that helps tell the story of a featured wedding, but you don't really want it to stand on its own, simply check the "For Editorial Use Only" box, and that image will not be put into the main gallery or your personal vendor directory gallery. You will only have access to that photo in your toggle tray when you're submitting some sort of editorial contribution. Pretty slick, right?
If you've already uploaded images that you'd like to be removed from the main gallery, simply go to manage media, find that image, and check of the "For Editorial Use Only" button and that image will be taken right out of the main galleries (and yes, we are adding a toggle tray/icon list for your manage media area... coming soon as well!)
Here is a screen shot of what the check box looks like, and I'm looking forward to seeing many more editorial contributions from all of you!
Thanks for reading,
KP

Good Morning! I was so super excited to check the site out this morning because I knew my amazing programmer, Derek, finished up the last piece of the myKPW vendor experience- Inspiration Boards! These will also be available for users to also create by the end of this week, but we wanted to give our vendors a jump start to get some amazing boards created in the meantime. So, I already realize the concept for an inspiration board can be slightly fuzzy in my opinion, and it also usually pertains to design-oriented vendors. I wanted to explain my concept of an inspiration board, how our vendors will create them, how our users will create them, and who I think they should be used. Derek was nice enough to create a sample board last night- which doesn't really make sense in the wedding world, but at least it shows you the layout and content :)
To me, an inspiration board on my Kate Parker Wedding should showcase one vendor's work. Most inspiration boards are a collection of images that sometimes relate to weddings, sometimes don't, sometimes they're from actual weddings, sometimes they're just a bunch of google images. Since the concept of my Kate Parker Wedding is to showcase each of our incredibly talented vendors, our vendors can filter through their current photos and create inspiration boards using 100% of their content. The boards can be created based on color, season and style filters. Each photo will have the tag plus sign so you can find out even more information on each image if you'd like. Since each vendor is in a specific state and budget category, any user viewing each board can ACTUALY afford and use the images they're viewing. I'm not really a huge fan of wedding-based Inspiration Boards being created out of photos that don't relate to the industry. I also think an Inspiration Board can pertain to vendors who are not involved with the design of the wedding. A hair stylist can make an incredible inspiration board out of classic updos, or a caterer can make a board out of fall hors d'oeuvres. This is a way to showcase one particular concept, so the possibilities are endless!
For our users, they will have access to all the photos within their state and budget, so their inspiration boards will have a much more mixed appearance, using different vendor's images. The boards will be inspirational for sure, but they will also be ATTAINABLE and AFFORDABLE since they're state and budget specific.
So the even cooler part? We LOVE social media at my Kate Parker Wedding, so go ahead and blog, Facebook, and Twitter your completed boards to show everyone what you've created! It's all about getting your work out there to YOUR particular client, and for the users, it's all about expressing your design sense and getting information to your friends and family who are helping you make any decisions.
Happy Inspiration Board creating!
