Well, first I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Kate Parker and I am the creative director behind Prepare To Wed.

After being a wedding planner and floral and event designer for the last seven years, I decided I wanted to help more than the 25-35 clients I get to see throughout each season. It's pretty obvious that after many years of planning and designing weddings, I understand the thought process of couples getting married, and for the most part, I actually teach my clients how to think about weddings because, let's face it, most of you haven't been married before and you probably don't know the first thing about what a photographer should cost or how many people should fit at a 60" round table- 8 or 9 with Chivaris, I really don't suggest 10 unless it's absolutely necessary :)

I am also a wife of 6 years to my husband Ryan and a mother to Zachary, my adorable son who I occasionally blog about. We also have a Chihuahua and her name is Lola and she would be a terrible show girl (actually she's super cool and is the VP of operations at KPW.) Some things about me that aren't so fabulous for myself but are great opportunities for Prepare To Wed are that I have type 1 diabetes and thyroid cancer. Because I am one of millions of people who live with these diseases but am certainly not smart enough to cure them, I decided to do help by raising as much money and awareness as I possibly can. At Prepare To Wed, we donate 5% of each of our vendors yearly fees to be a part of the Prepare To Wed family to the JDRF, The Pink Initiative, and for Lola- the ASPCA.

I want Prepare To Wed to be a planning tool that not only inspires you but educates you in the world of weddings. Our vendors are hand-selected for their level of excellence and they want to share with you as much information as you need in order for you to make informed and stress-free decisions. I am so happy you found Prepare To Wed, welcome to the family, and happy happy planning!

It's my job to teach you how to work with your budget, how to prioritize your design elements, and how to navigate the emotional stresses of the planning process just to name a few. I live this industry day in and day out and I know what it takes to have a stress-free planning experience.
