Exciting News from Joya beauty!

Joanne McDonough of Joya beauty was honored to be a speaker at the Artist Summit in NYC…

Joanne McDonough, the founder of Joya beauty Makeup and Skin Care Studio in Dover, was recently invited to speak at the annual Artist Summit in New York City.  The Artist Summit is a two day program for makeup artists focusing on training and education.  Participants at the summit include professional make-up artists as well as writers and editors from prestigious fashion magazines such as Elle, French Vogue, and Make-up Artist.  According to Ms. McDonough, “It’s an honor to be chosen to speak to my peers in such a prestigious forum.  As I’ve always said, just because we live in New Hampshire doesn’t mean the women of the seacoast have to go to the  “big city” to get quality beauty care.  Joanne is one of the leading Make Artists in the Northeast.  She consistently books with award winning photographers and works runway shows all over the Northeast.  Her work has been seen on FOX 25 News, and featured in numerous local and regional magazines.

also recently in NYC:

Joanne makes it her goal to keep on top of the current techniques and products in her industry.  She just returned from a week of makeup immersion in NYC.  While there she collaborated with a leading makeup artist on her next book to be released next year, worked with models and photographers on a portfolio shoot as well as an up and coming fashion designer for his spring collection runway debut.  While this was all great fun and wonderful, her favorite part of the week was working with the “everyday” women who will be featured in the book which is all about being 40+ and our ever changing beauty needs.

Why should a bride visit MY Kate Parker Wedding?

Good Question.  There are plenty of resources out there today, both in print and on-line.  One of my pet peeves about wedding resources is brides are given TOO many options when looking through countless advertisements.  Anyone with a checkbook can take an ad out regardless of their quality.  Not only that, the more money you spend, the bigger the ad, the better you look.  I think brides deserve to see a limited number of HIGH QUALITY vendors in order to make an educated decision.  At MY KPW we are limiting the number of vendors in each category, hand-selecting each company based on their quality, level of customer service, style and sophistication.  We will be featuring our MY KPW vendors throughout this website, with interviews, news and events, and photos.  We guarantee we will only be featuring the best of the best in each state and each price point.
