This shocked me when I saw why you were doing this give away and honestly, brought tears to my eyes.
Valentines day 2010 Jeff, my other half bought me a gorgeous ring, surprised me and asked me to marry him. The following month, middle of March we booked the location and put $1500 down to save the date. The end of March Jeff, My fiance @ 29 years old was diagnosed with Cancer. It has been a really tough 6 Months. He’s been going through Chemo which took him down pretty badly. Our family is about 2 hours away so it was hard for me to balance work, for our bills and home sake and staying home to care for him. We struggled through and still are, bills have been piling up with me being the only one working, when I can. Thank heavens for FMLA use although it is unpaid it does save my job. Our parents have helped as much as they could. All of this was obviously unexpected and we had already booked the wedding date pretty much right after we got engaged and placed the last $1500 that we had down to book the location, at that point, not thinking it was going to really be the last amount of money for a while. Although we absolutely do not regret it, we just wish that this experience could be more enjoyable and to be able to savor every moment in the wedding planning and make memories while doing so, Like it should be. Its just tough and emotionally draining as we are counting the days when the next deposit is due. Yes, we could possibly extend it out a year, possibly, if the location would work with us, but honestly, this wedding means more than the world to us. Jeff and I have been together for almost 5 years and right from the start, we knew it was meant to be. I want to call him my husband, I want to make sure he will be happy through out his life, I want to have his baby and make him a daddy as he has always talked about. The chances are cut in half due to the chemo and other cancer related issues. I would love to be married and then build our family so the Dr said the sooner the better at this point.
We are honestly trying hard to get this all worked out. Its just tough. If I could give him this surprise, relieve all of the un-needed and unhealthy stress, lift a huge weight off of his back when it comes to financially planning this wedding, it would mean the world to me. Alls I want to do from this point on is watch him smile and hear him laugh. He deserves a much needed vacation from stress, health wise and financially. We have pushed and made it this far, it is totally worth the chance to enter, but, if we do not win, then the couple who does deserves it more than we do as I truly believe in the saying “Everything happens for a reason”.
Thank you kindly for giving me the chance to explain our story and have a chance at winning our dream wedding.
