Inspiration

Last week, Kate was looking through some fabrics for custom linens and fell in LOVE with the pattern yellow-y gray-ish floral pattern below.  It’s pretty fab, right?!  So why not get Kate even more inspired by putting together a little inspiration board together.  Well, I was going to make it a surprise, but it’s nearly impossible to keep anything from her especially when we sit like 5 feet from one another — but hardly talk to each other throughout the day!  Anyways . . . this gave us a great opportunity to showcase a fave dress of mine by Amsale.  I’m not a huge bow fan, but there’s something delicately sweet about this one which emphasizes the waist line perfectly.  Enjoy!

    Valentine Finds

REMINDER: Valentine’s Day is right around the corner so no last minute trips to the drugstore in efforts to find the perfect card!  Not going to happen this year, people.

Well, in lieu of yet another holiday approaching us, we couldn’t resist heart-inspired goody shopping and I think our finds are super adorable.  Now, I’ve always loved these invitations by Gus & Ruby Letterpress, so I guess their not a “new” find — just love!  Oh and by the way, if you’re a New Hampshire native, be sure to watch New Hampshire Chronicle next Thursday (February 10) at 7:30pm — the ladies of G&R will be featured!

Ok, I am all about Etsy — somewhat obsessed.  Aren’t we all?  I’m always stumbling on the cutest little finds including these little lovebirds.  Personally, I think they’re great for a cake topper — what do you think?

To further today’s Etsy finds, couldn’t go without a little banner action.  And the ring bearer pillow?  How cute and whimsical!  Hope you enjoy!

      2011 Seacoast Bride

We’re super excited to have helped contribute to Seacoast Bride magazine so thank you for sharing the process with us SB!  But of course, we cannot take the cake on this one.  It certainly belongs to the efforts from some very talented wedding pro’s in the New England area (and beyond!).  The 2011 issue is filled with amazing weddings, special details and floral designs, and a wedding budget feature!  Oh, we cannot forget a beautiful dress spread on a Miami designer — you’ll just have to wait for more on that one.

So here’s to the new year and to a fabulous Seacoast Bride 2011 which is on stands! This cover is just a sneak peek into the wedding of Gus & Ruby’s very own Whitney Swaffield and her husband AK. Stay tuned today as we share with you a little bit of what’s inside!

        Inspiration

If I had my way, I would live up north in New Hampshire or somewhere in New England with lots of land, mountains, maybe a little running brook, a barn is a definite must…and the list goes on and on.  And there’s something to be said about how weddings have been adopting so many of the rustic elements.  From birch-wrapped cocktail centerpieces, to little birds nests to accessorize your table and even a s’more bar?  Who doesn’t love it?

I especially love the place card table idea by New Hampshire floral designer, Ideas in Bloom.  It’s such a great idea and very practical — should you have a little bit of handiness in you.

          So what’s going on?

Man, the holidays are approaching us quickly, and I still have so many things to do…cards, baking, putting back up our fallen 15-foot tree!  Oh by the way, if you need some super cute holiday cards and you’re in the Portsmouth area (NH, that is), be sure to stop by Gus & Ruby Letterpress.  First, they just have the cutest boutique ever (I want to live there).  And second, they have the sweetest holiday card selection!  Click here to see what they have — or may not have after I’ve been in there.  I’ve already chosen like 5 different sets that are must haves for this year!

So what’s been going on this week?  A lot. Period.  But that’s a good thing!  There has been much action going on with new photos and videos getting uploaded and fabulous wedding features!  We love this one by Maine wedding planner, Sweetest Things Wedding.  Love the color combo — yellow, aqua and slate.  And the dress worn by the bride?  Fabulous!  We’ll certainly show more from this featured wedding next week, so stay tuned!

This week was full of brightly colored wedding details, and Floral Artistry is not shy of any hues.  So let’s welcome Floral Artistry to the family and check out some of their fabulous floral designs!

Here’s to something bright–not only the amazing bouquet, but the concept of the shot.  It totally made me chuckle! Love this shot by Chicago wedding planner, Shang Chen Photography.  And in case you missed it this week, she captured a beautiful organic-y yet mod event at the Boston Public Library — check it out here.

Thinking about wedding dresses?  Tulle is a definite trend for 2011.  And in case you are thinking about a tulle dress but don’t know if there is a dress that fits your style, be sure to check out this expert advice article.  Love this one by Lazaro, by the way!
