Lobster ♥ | Wild Orchid Baking Company

Are you having a lobster bake for a rehearsal dinner or even your wedding?  Ok, you must check out this incredible lobster duo! I fell in love with this cake months ago when I was picking up way too many cupcakes for my husband and I to eat on our own from the shop of New Hampshire cake designer, Wild Orchid Baking Company. Erin is simply amazing and so creative — you must check her out!  But there’s one problem…I wouldn’t want to eat it!

Whitehall Inn, Maine Wedding | Sweetest Things Weddings

In case you are starting to feel exhausted from holiday preparations, here’s a great kick-start into the week.  This Maine wedding at Whitehall Inn designed by wedding planner, Sweetest Things Weddings, is certainly on the top of our lists.  In practically every photo,  the bride and groom – Lily and Buddy – are just so radiant and her smile is simply contagious (aren’t their names just so cute?).  And that dress – I absolutely love!  I was never a fan of tulle when I was getting married, but now I am obsessed.  This dress is exactly what I would want to wear (ok, and her yellow cardigan).

The tables were kept simple, yet it’s always the simple details that makes quite a statement — especially when using bright yellows which were inspired by New York taxi cabs!  Clusters of football mums lined the center of the tables with yellow votives placed in between.  For more details about this wedding, including the vendors involved, check out the full featured wedding.

TIP: Now here’s a great idea.  The couple made great use of the furniture within the inn.  What is typically used to display antique plates, the couples used shelving to display their photos and unique design elements to go along with their wedding decor.  It was a great way to make the setting more personal and intimate.  So don’t be afraid to ask your venue if you can make use of any of their furniture or remove any elements.  And be sure to let them know what you are thinking about displaying — just so that you don’t ruin any of their furniture (for some places – especially inns – their furniture may be antiques).
