Cupcake and Truffle Towers {What To Consider} | Expert Advice from Sweet Rewards

Connecticut wedding cakes, Sweet Rewards wrote this great expert advice article for anyone considering having a cupcake tower or truffle tower for their wedding.  A wedding cake doesn’t necessarily have to be made of cake these days, as long as it’s tiered and sweet and delicious … it can take on the form of a wedding cake!  If you are looking for some tips on how to create your cupcake or truffle tower “wedding cake” check out the great advice below!

As a baker/cake designer, it is our role to help a bride and groom select a cupcake tower that is pleasing both to the eye and the palate.  There are many things to consider.

Quantity: The number of servings needed depends on several factors. Take the following into consideration:

Will there be any other deserts offered? If so, one cupcake per person most likely is sufficient.  If no other desserts are offered 1.5 cupcakes per guest is appropriate by catering standards, as some guest will take two and some will pass alltogether.

How many flavors would you like to offer? If you choose to offer 2 different flavors then the 1.5 per guest is a minimum, since you will be tempting guests with options.

Are the cupcakes being served by your caterer or will they be part of a buffet set-up? If they are served a minimum of one per guest … otherwise, as luck will have it, it will be that one relative who complains most that will be left without one.

Are the cupcakes being offered as a take home favor as well? … if so minimum of 2 per guest.

Top tier … cake or cupcakes? This is just a matter of preference and event schedule.  Would you like to have a cake to serve one another?  If so perhaps a small cake as the topper so that you may cut and feed one another.  If this isnt vital to you, the place two large cupcakes on the top tier and feed one another the cupcakes!

Serving: If you choose to fill your cupcake tower with several flavors.  We suggest that the caterers serve two different flavors to each couple…this way they can share and trade if they happen to be partial to one flavor over the other.  More then 3 flavors can become a bit unmanageable for caterers to serve but works beautifully in a desert buffet set-up.

The most important thing to remember is have fun!  Cupcakes bring out the children in all of us ….so have fun planning, sharing and eating your cupcakes!

Beyond The Lens Photography | A Connecticut Lobster Bake Wedding

As a native Maine-ah, I feel a bit biased and maybe even spoiled when it comes to lobster.  But let me tell you .. I never thought Connecticut could pull it off so well!  I mean, this wedding might be one of my favorite lobster bake weddings I’ve ever seen.  The details were done to a T  - the raw bar and the lobster tools and the “how to crack a lobster” card is just perfect!  Hats off to you, bride and groom, for not being afraid to get down and dirty with lobsters and crackers and bibs on your wedding day … especially in that white dress!  This fab wedding was featured by Beyond the Lens Photography and to see the full wedding, visit their blog!

          Creating a Marriage/Partnership Vision…Beyond Premarital & Couple Counseling©

Would you start a business without a business plan? Most of us would say “no”.  So why would you enter into the most important partnership of your life without a clear vision and plan for addressing growth and challenges?  This workshop is designed to be an interactive process in which you and your partner create a vision for the life you wish to build together.  Based upon a process of discerning your personal beliefs, values and commitments, you will work with skilled facilitators to design your own partnership vision. This will flow into you and your partner teaming-up to create a joint and unique marriage/partnership vision.

Who Should Attend? Any couples in committed relationships who have a strong and healthy foundation but wish to bring conscious intention and focus into their daily lives.  You do not need to be married, living together, or engaged, as long as you are interested in creating a foundation for a vibrant, strong and healthy relationship with a life partner.
