Welcome New Members!

Before we go out and play in the snow this weekend (well some of us) we wanted to introduce you to some amazing vendors who’ve joined the family!  We’ve had so many recently join, so stay tuned as we introduce them all.  This week, we’d like to welcome -

Miami Dress Designer: Jorge Manuel Garcia | Seacoast Bride

At the Fall Bridal Market in NYC, Kate had the pleasure to meet Miami dress designer, Jorge Manuel, and view the amazing dresses from his 2011 Nebula collection — a collection inspired by the stars.  Instantly, there was love for his twist on the traditional gown.

“For centuries, people have marveled in awe at the starts in the night sky.  Some have mapped the stars for direction in navigation.  Many others used stars and the patterns they made across the sky to tell stories, oral traditions that would be passed down through generations.  Still, others looked to the stars for inspiration or simply to make a wish.”

As you explore the collection, each dress is hand-crafted and designed with purpose to reflect the essence of each constellation and we were honored to take a personal look into the gowns as we hosted a photo shoot at the shop of Gus & Ruby Letterpress in downtown Portsmouth, which was in collaboration with Seacoast Bride Magazine.

Below is just a glimpse into the premiere of Jorge Manuel Garcia’s 2011 collection featured in the 2011 issue of Seacoast Bride!  Oh, and we certainly want to thank Gus & Ruby for letting us use their space for the day and another thanks to Hair that Moves and Joya Beauty for hair and makeup!

Yes, the model on the left is Samantha of Gus & Ruby — looking fab!

a Holiday Wedding | Mark Davidson Photography

The holidays are approaching us in only a matter of days and I just finished all of my wrapping last night – phew!  Now just have to put my antler and nose on my car (yes, I did get a silly set of them) and pray for a little snow!  But before we hit Santa Day, there are just a few things to take care of this week like this holiday wedding recently captured by Rhode Island wedding photographer, Mark Davidson Photography.

Jason and Ani met at the Coast Guard House in Narragansett RI during a summer when they both rented a beach house for the weekend with their friends.  A few weekends ago, the couple had an afternoon wedding at Vatanantz Church with a reception to follow at the Westin Hotel in Providence.  The room was filled with calla lily arrangements, holiday decor, cigar bar and two bands for a night packed with dancing…enjoy!

Dresses for your Silhouette, and more! | Madeleine’s Daughter

At our recent my Kate Parker Wedding Educates event hosted by Madeleine’s Daughter, we had Elizabeth and Cheryl from the Portsmouth NH bridal salon present to couples the different silhouettes one should consider for their body type.  The ladies also explained the different fabric options — the difference between them and what price tag you can consider for each of the fabric types.  Check out the video footage captured by Rhode Island wedding photographer, Mark Davidson Photographer:

Real Wedding | Mark Davidson Photographer

Rhode Island wedding photographer, Mark Davidson, recently traveled (by train – 27 hours!) to Georgia for a delightfully playful wedding involving a bride playing some mean air-guitar, a little shuffle puck (one of my favorite bar games, by-the-way), and striking out on the lanes – bowling that is!  How fun would this be?  Ok, so it’s not for everyone, but even to have it for a rehearsal dinner?  I think it would be a blast!

Be sure to check out Mark’s blog for more photos from this wedding!
