This past summer we had the distinct pleasure of working with some of New York’s most talented wedding specialists on an event to remember at Martha Stewart’s sprawling countryside home in Bedford, NY. Celebrating the marriage of Martha’s nephew Christopher Hebert and his longtime love Timothy Long, our Sperry Tent provided some welcomed shade and a relaxed ambiance for the garden party themed event. Guests spread out on blankets with oversized throw pillows and picnic baskets, enjoyed lawn games, and danced to the ‘20s-style jazz band.
The weather was absolutely perfect for this intimate celebration. Blues skies eventually gave way to a starry night as guests migrated under the sailcloth canopy of the46’x65’ tent. String lights, carefully woven throughout the tent, exuded an elegant glow late into the warm September evening.
The wedding consultants worked closely together, and with the newly wedded couple, to create a truly perfect summer wedding. With leaves falling, temperatures dropping, and the New England wedding season winding down, Sperry Tents travelled to San Antonio Texas for a beautiful tented wedding at The Argyle Club. Our custom New England plank flooring covered the dining club’s parking lot, setting the stage for our 46′ x 105′ sailcloth reception tent.
The day’s unclouded sunshine gave way to a warm southern evening filled with family, friends, dancing and delicious food.
The New England wedding season has finally arrived!
With a few beautiful spring days behind us now, and more soon to come, I thought it would be nice to have an official Sperry Tents update. We have been busy in the off-season working on new, exciting developments for the 2010 season.
We are excited to launch our new hardwood flooring design, a classic southern yellow pine. The new, versatile hardwood flooring option accommodates any event size covering all interior tent dimensions. With the ability to convert outdoor settings into elegant ballroom dining halls, the new southern yellow pine accents a tent’s interior with a soft elegant ambiance. Combining a nautical wooden plank design with a perfect finish, this new floor is available for dance floors, bandstand staging, and fully floored events.
We have also expanded our tent inventory, introducing a line of 66ft wide tents. The new width size parallels the traditional 46’ and 32’ width tent sizes, ranging in sizes up to 66’x120’. The new tents provide more room for larger events accommodating dinner and dancing for 400+ under the signature sailcloth canopy.
