emilie inc. photography is a photojournalism studio founded in 2003 by owner photographer Emilie Sommer and based in the Portland, Maine, area. The studio has photographed more than 400 weddings and is comprised of 6 photographers, a studio manager, an image manager, a designer, a writer, and a summer intern. Known on both a local and national level for thoughtful, honest imagery, a recognizable brand and a reputation for providing first class quality service, Emilie earned a degree in photojournalism from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and worked as a photographer and photo editor for USA Today and the Washington Post. Emilie has also founded the Roots Workshop, Love & Lobster, and Pink Initiative 501(c)(3) non-profit to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.
