We are happy to be a part of the Deserving Couple Contest hosted by Jessica's Country Flowers.  (http://jesscountryflowers.blogspot.com/2010/06/deserving-couple-contest-taking.html) The contest is simple.  Jessica looks for a couple experiencing financial hardship, yet still finds time to do good for others and giving back to their community. She invintes other wedding professionals  to join in and everybody donates their services and products to the winning couple.

Cakes People often ask what’s the process of creating a wedding cake like. After talking to the couple and learning more about the wedding and their budget, I am then able to create cake sketches that incorporate the aspects that they showed interests in and that would complement the style of the wedding. Here is a example:... This bride liked the idea of a square or round+square cake with a fun feel using the colors: white, blue and green. I created several designs for them to chose from, some also incorporating the invitation design.

The couple picked sketch number 8 as their design. Sometimes a few changes are done along the way… Like on this cake the sketch has two flowers on top, but they just didn’t look right on the cake, the single flowers ended up looking a lot better.
