The news just seems to get worse by the minute for the people of Haiti. Take a few minutes and check out the headlines . I know you will feel compelled to help in any way you can. These people have nothing. It really puts things into perspective and makes you appreciate everything we have here in the states.

I'm sure most of you have been watching the news and have heard about the devastating earthquake in Haiti. I also have been watching and learning of how desperate a situation this is. All of the hospitals are gone, airports are flattened, there is no emergency aid available and as of this evening, they are saying that over 100,000 are dead. This country and its people are desperatly in need of our help. Please take a moment and go on to CNN.com/Impact and learn how you can help. I made a quick list of organizations you can send a donation to, but there are many more listed on the CNN site. Here are a few ways you can donate:
American Red Cross-redcross.org
Unicef- unisefusa.org
World Vision- worldvision.org
Catholic Relief Services- crs.org
Save The Children- savethechildren.org
Americares- americares.org
Doctors Without Borders- doctorswithoutborders.org
Salvation Army- salvationarmyusa.org

Again I urge you to get involved and give whatever you can. Any amount will help. This is your opportunity to help the helpless. Together we can truely make a difference.
God Bless

Today I recieved some information from a charity we donated to this past season ,and I thought I'd pass their touching story on to you. The charity is called The Wounded Warrior Project . It was founded on the principl that veterans are our nation's greatest citizens. The "Project" seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afganistan and other hot spots around the world. Our servicemen and women suffer form horrible injuries such as combat stress and depression ,traumatic brain injury, disfiguring scars and the lossof one or more limbs, just to name a few. They will return home only to face greater challanges obtaining assistance and finding opprotunities that will enable them to provide for themselves and their families. This charity operates soley on donations and is certainly worth our consideration when chosing a charity to support. You can learn more about them at: woundedwarriorproject.org.
If you would like to share information about a charity you are currently supporting, one you may have heard about which has touched your heart, please let us know about it. We will do the research to learn more about them and try to feature as many as we can.
