  • Destination Wedding Photos from St. Pete Beach, FL

    Hi Everyone,

Click here to view a photo slideshow of the destination wedding that we did back in March at the Grand Plaza Hotel in St. Pete Beach www.GrandPlazaFlorida.com

What a great trip this was at the end of March.  Laura and Frank were married on what looked like a complete washout of rain...but by the powers that I have (joking of course) I cleared the weather long enough for us to get some very cool beach pics as you will see below.  This slideshow was shown last weekend at their welcome reception @ The Executive Court in Manchester.

  • 5 Tips for an Amazing Wedding Day

Church Landing BrideOnce engaged, couples spend a lot of time planning for the big day and all the little details but usually in the midst of it all, some of the smallest yet most important things can get overlooked.

    1. Don't forget to eat!  - Many brides and grooms forget to eat and after a sip of Champagne find themselves a little tipsy or faint.  A light breakfast or lunch will give you that much needed energy to get through the day.  Don't forget to keep hydrated too!

    2. Designate Duties.  - Have a bridesmaid or groomsman take care of last minute payments to vendors, worrying about your gift table and holding on to your personal items.  That's one less thing you'll need to worry about.

    3. Expect that something will go wrong.  - Everyone wants the perfect wedding day, and chances are that it will be.  But there is also the chance that something will go not exactly as planned.  It could be the weather, that you're 5 minutes late to the ceremony, or that something wasn't put out properly at the reception.  The important thing is to not stress over these little details and if you are prepared for something to go wrong ahead of time, then it won't seem like a big deal.  Nobody is going to know but you that something is different and the most important thing still happened.  You got married to the love of your life.

    4. Say Thank You.  - Throughout the day remember to thank all of the people that helped you in planning your wedding day and your friends and family for attending.  Their love and support helped to get you to your wedding day.

    5. Enjoy Eachother!  - This day is about the two of you and your love.  Don't let any of the stressful moments of the day get in the way of that.  And when you're standing there during your vows, really look your fiance in the eyes and savor the moment.  It only happens once.

    All my best,
    Jaime

  • Using Local Wedding Photography & Videography for your Destination Wedding

We recently returned from shooting a destination wedding in Florida...I know rough life :) (at the Grand Plaza Hotel in St. Pete Beach, FL.  www.grandplazaFlorida.com).

There is a common theme that I want to share with you.  It was worth taking us, the local photography/videography company along for the ride.  So the question I want to answer for you is why?

    Some of the reasons include:

    1. You get a chance to meet and fully review our work well ahead of the wedding

    2. It allows both of us to do a planning meeting face to face so that we can work together to create a image checklist.  We usually fly down early so that we can get a handle on the landscape and what the facilities are like.

    3. You have a familiar face in a not so familiar setting - we can't tell you the feedback that we have received saying how comforting it was on the day of the wedding to have someone they knew and trusted.

    4. Your wedding photography/video comes back home with you.

    5. If you are planning a reception for those who couldn't make it then you have the option of doing a slideshow/video of your destination wedding during the reception and not only that, we can shoot the reception.

    6. No joke, more often than not its less expensive - You may become a captive person if you hire someone locally at the destination.  Many times they will charge a large sum because they realize that you have no choice once you are there.  If you factor in the amount of hours in planning and shooting that we do...quite frankly we are well worth the money.

    7. Its not just the wedding that can be photographed/videographed...we can photograph/video the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and any other sub events.

Destination weddings don't always have to be in tropical or far off places.  We consider any wedding where no one hails from the area to be a destination wedding.  We have shot weddings in different states and you have the same effect.
