I approach each event as a clean slate. I am like a fly on the wall. Capturing a wedding is like dancing… to be a dancer; you must create a picture with every step, interpret the music, feel the other dancer’s energy, anticipate and respond with your own movement and heart. As a photographer, I capture that with my camera: anticipating, feeling and sensing the next moment and creating an image that responds to what is going on around me. I had been a dancer my whole life, dancing professionally for 7 years in New York and then touring all over North America and Europe. However, a dancer’s life is short and when it was time to stop, I really searched for something that I could be equally passionate about. When I processed my first print in the darkroom, I had my “hallelujah moment.” I love it!
